Our History
Established in Tauranga in 1997, Generation Homes has since become a highly reputable name in residential construction.
Today, we are known for our project management and land development, as well as our expertise in the residential building sector. Such success is partly due to our trusted reputation for reliability, rigorous quality control, and strong, loyal customer and supplier relationships; and partly the result of a national joint venture expansion initiative launched two years ago.
The company was founded by Graham Hockly, an electrician, and his business partner, builder David Mansel. More than 10 years down the track, both Graham and David remain strong in the belief that building doesn’t need to be a stressful, time-consuming and cost-spiraling exercise. Their aim has always been to provide certainty in the uncertain world of building, and that has meant creating and implementing simple, streamlined processes and refining them over the years.
Keeping promises is also vital to our success. Strict attention is paid to preventing quality shortcuts and price variations, delivering on time, adhering to costings, and addressing issues like energy and waste efficiency. We know that our people – customers, joint venture partners and employees – are our greatest asset.
All Generation Homes’ customers can expect quality, sustainability, efficiency, commitment and fantastic teamwork. We focus on listening to them, taking away their frustrations and exceeding their expectations.
Consequently, every one of our clients enjoys the budget security of a fixed-price contract and can watch their new home being delivered according to their own detailed building schedule. That’s the Generation pledge: fixed price, on time – guaranteed.
