It is expected that the residential area of The Lakes will comprise standard residential sections, medium density sections, possibly some three-level apartments and one or more retirement villages.
We would expect the development to house around 7,000 people. Te Puke has a similar population.
The commercial area will be a small suburban shopping centre comprising cafes, garden centre, hairdresser and the usual convenience shops. Also planned are a childcare centre and a comprehensive medical centre.
The development will include extensive parks, reserves, children’s playgrounds, lakes, walks and cycleways. Close proximity to the proposed regional sports grounds in Pyes Pa / Joyce Roads, an area of 71 hectares of active and passive sports and recreation facilities.
