With summer here and Christmas just around the corner, building experts say multifunctional spaces offering good indoor-outdoor flow are high on the wish-list.  

Innovations in design technology have enabled the merge of interior to exterior through large windows and doors and versatile building materials.

Generation Homes’ chief executive Kevin Atkinson says the outdoor room movement is about breaking down conventional barriers to create the illusion of a larger house.

These outdoor spaces can be designed for a multiude of uses including alfresco dining and entertainment, vegetable gardens, children’s play areas or private adult retreats.
