Modern, TownHouse living

A key location to capture the Auckland Lifestyle.

The family-oriented seaside suburb of Point England is known for its warm, culturally diverse community. It’s popular with families who enjoy the plentiful green space and quality schooling in the area.

Torino Street in Point England is ideally suited for everyday modern living for a wide range of families and lifestyles.

Tāmaki is a special place
Here you’ll find a diverse community of warm, down-to-earth people with a strong connection to the whakapapa of this area. Although close to the city, in many ways Tāmaki feels a world apart. It’s leafier and greener than most of Auckland, the sea flashes into view at every turn, and in the town centres, urban street art sits alongside traditional family-run stores.

It’s just 12 minutes by train to Auckland’s CBD from Glen Innes, and 15 minutes from Panmure. And with upgrades to streets, public transport and cycleways on the way, it’s set to get even easier to get around within Tāmaki, too.

Tāmaki’s tamariki are well served by 25 early learning centres and 11 schools, including Te Kura Kaupapa Māori O Puau Te Moananui A Kiwa. Tāmaki’s schools are pioneering participants in Manaiakalani, a groundbreaking digital learning programme. The 20-year Tāmaki Education Strategy will introduce investment into education infrastructure, starting with the Tāmaki School and Sommerville Special School.

Wherever you are in Tāmaki, you’re never more than 1.5km from the sea. Get to know the Tāmaki coast by walking or biking the Point England Walkway, a new path that runs between the Panmure yacht club and Glen Innes, taking in Point England Reserve on the way.

Bordering the northern end of the suburb, the 41ha Point England Reserve is a community taonga. Stretching along the Tāmaki river, it encompasses varied landscapes, including important bird nesting grounds and farmland. The Point England walkway runs along the length of the reserve and will become part of the 11km Tāmaki Loop. Co-managed by Ngāti Pāoa and Auckland Council, the iwi has plans to restore Tāmaki River and Omaru creek and build a marae on a portion of the site.

The Tāmaki Loop is set to become a popular family destination for locals and visitors alike. This shared pedestrian and cycle route will connect residents across Tāmaki to each other, the striking Maungarei (Mount Wellington), and the sparkling awa, taking in expansive parks and playgrounds. Co-designed with local iwi, hāpu and the community, it will showcase Tāmaki’s rich natural and cultural history along the way.

Over the next twenty years, Point England, as part of the Tāmaki regeneration programme, will become a grid of liveable streets connected to public transport and open space, centred around a pedestrian-focussed and greened Anderson Avenue.
